A little history about Abbey Design Center

When we opened our doors for business in January of 1989 we had a simple business philosophy: “Give your customer quality products at a fair price and take care of them like a friend.” This basic principle about Abbey Design Center has been an unwavering cornerstone behind the business and remains our guiding light through the years.

The business model about Abbey Design Center revolves around three core pillars: service, craftsmanship and value. We are committed to providing an exceptional customer experience and a finished product at a fair and affordable price. We want you to love your new space!

Our milestones

In 1995 we joined the Abbey Carpet & Floor team. Since 1959 Abbey has grown to over 800 members across the country. It is recognized as America’s choice in floor fashion and home improvement. The buying power and expertise that Abbey Carpet & Floor brings to the table is a wonderful complement to the growing traditions at Abbey Design Center.

In 1998 we started remodeling kitchens & bathrooms. We already handled the flooring needs for many kitchen and bath projects. After witnessing firsthand our commitment to craftsmanship, our customers continually asked us to complete the remaining work – so that’s exactly what we did! This division’s growth seemed to be a natural progression of Abbey’s evolution.

In 2001, due to the number of jobs we were doing in western Loudoun County, we decided to open our second location in Leesburg, VA. Our Leesburg location now features one of our two stylish showrooms, so customers can walk in and marvel at the selection and quality of our work.

In 2004, we re-committed ourselves to our clients by relocating and building the largest retail floor covering showroom in the Washington DC Metro area. Our 11,000 square foot building offers every floor covering available, the latest in kitchen and bath designs, and many other popular home remodeling ideas. We continuously challenge ourselves by looking for the latest technology and most fashion-forward products available.

In 2007, we expanded our existing commercial division, Abbey Commercial Flooring. This department serves government, large commercial projects and smaller end-user spaces.

While the future shall remain unknown, we can’t wait to see what’s in store!
