Wer lieber die klassische Version nutzen möchte, muss diese separat herunterladen. Schülerinnen und Schüler, die private digitale Endgeräte im Unterricht nutzen möchten, müssen die Vereinbarung herunterladen und ausgefüllt und unterschrieben bei ihrem Klassenlehrer abgeben. Für Nutzer in der Europäischen Union, Liechtenstein, der Schweiz, Norwegen und Island ist die Einschreibung komplett kostenlos, wenn sie sich mit einem Microsoft-Konto bei Windows 10 angemeldet haben. Eine Aktivierung von Windows Backup oder das Abdrücken von 1.000 Punkten aus Microsoft Rewards ist nicht erforderlich. Microsoft wird allerdings prüfen, ob das Konto in den letzten 60 Tagen aktiv gewesen ist.
