Eco-friendly Kitchen Renovations

Your kitchen is often the heart of your home, the place that sees more activity and traffic than any area shared space, and consequently the room that will require an upgrade sooner than most. When you finally decide to renovate your Loudoun County kitchen to accommodate your current needs, it will require making choices based on your current lifestyle and your budget. Spending your money wisely on that renovation can now be synonymous with making the environmentally sound choice.

At Shenandoah Furniture Gallery the barns and agricultural buildings we salvage throughout Loudoun County and the Shenandoah Valley to reclaim wood, stone, tin, and square nails allow for us to avoid creating the 60 pounds of greenhouse gases that would be released into the atmosphere if we were harvesting news lumber.

Our decision at Shenandoah Furniture Gallery to use 100 percent reclaimed materials is based on our desire to serve as stewards for the environment and our innate appreciation for the history that the beauty of lumber carries with it forever.

Our reclaimed wood flooring is 100% from old barns, architectural buildings and rural structures, our reclaimed wood kitchen islands, antique farm tables and custom cabinets are as well. All of these elements are custom designed to your specifications, dimensions and needs.

The antique tin we salvage can be used on ceilings or as back splashes, providing an aged patina that is both beautiful as well as functional.

Hand-in-hand with using reclaimed wood and architectural accents is including energy efficient appliances in your newly renovated kitchen. Dishwashers that use less water and energy (which will garner your rebates in certain states) and using an energy efficient refrigerator that will use about 15 percent less energy than non-certified models are the wise choices that will ensure your kitchen retains its functionality, beauty and practicality for years to come.
